Kea are claimed to be one of the most intelligent birds by many scientists. They are a lover of new things and can use crafty ways to obtain food. Travel to the Southern alps of New Zealand and you’ll often find Kea at close vicinity to humans, or often chewing away at the rubber of traveller’s vehicles! Also known to be ‘cleaners’ and alpine seed distributors, they play an important part to the ecosystem.
Endangered with only 5000 Kea left, we are helping where we can and donating 10% of sales profit of this model within New Zealand, Australia and online, to the Kea Conservation Trust
